Top 5 Things to Do with your Dog over a Weekend

We don't get to spend as much time as we would like with our pups during the week. This limited quality time means we want to make the most of the weekend.

Take advantage of your weekend with your pup by indulging in one of these activities.

1. Explore a New Area

The weekend is the perfect time to check out other areas besides your local neighbourhood. Whether you just pop to another suburb to check out a different dog park or take a road trip for the whole weekend, it will be a blast for both you and your pup.

2. Go Bushwalking

You can find so many dog-friendly bushwalks around that will be not only fun for you and your pup but also excellent exercise. Your dog will love all the new smells, sights and sounds available in a bush setting.

3. Visit the Beach

If the weather is warm, why not take your pup for a swim. There are plenty of dog-friendly swimming areas across Australia and New Zealand. Just check your local council's website for where your dog can go.

4. Go to Brunch

Many cafe's and restaurants are adopting a dog-friendly attitude, which means you can enjoy delicious brunch and bring your pup along. There are even cafes that offer doggie menus which means your dog can enjoy something yummy of their own, and we all know they think you'll share your bacon with them.

5. Meet up with Puppy Friends

Your pup no doubt has their own circle of poochy friends, so why not meet up with them to hang out, play or just enjoy fellow pet parent conversations. You can even check if there are any doggie events that you can take your pup to, and meet new friends.

No matter what you choose to do, make the most of the extra time you have to spend with your pup, and you'll strengthen the already strong bond you share.
